Maeva is now 8 weeks, 3 days old.
She still sleeps for 3-4 hours, although she does have occasional 5 hours stretches-which is a real blessing.
She loves being carried around in an upright position. She happily sleeps while people are talking, meaning that our friends who come to visit hardly see her awake!
5am change-she loves looking at the lights, so i hung it about the changing table to keep her entertained-it works!!
We leave for Samoa this Friday at midnight on Air New Zealand, for a 2 week break with my family. Most of them have yet to meet the lil' one. I also have not met my two new nephews Siatua (Kilisi's son) and Maurice (Leilani's son).
Maeva is the 4th grandchild on Gui's side.
Maeva is the (hold your breath) 18th grandchild on my side. The eldest is Christina (Kilisi's daughter), aged 19.
okay, heres the photos from today, our day started with Gui's friend Simon Morley who came to visit. He came down for the weekend for the Varsity Rugby Club Reunion last night, where Gui got really really wasted, so drunk that when i went to pick him up, he was stuttering and talking a lot of shit (as per usual) and he was demandning we went to McDonalds for dinner (how bloody romantic) so we went drive thru and here is how he ordered his meal:
McD voice: May i take ur order please?
Drunk Gui: I waaannnt a MMMacAttack, shit, no, i waannnt aaaaa 2 big maggs, fries and a Mac Attack
McD voice: Sir, Mac Attack has 2 big macs, would you like the Mac Attack combo?
DRunk Gui: Sh!+ No! I waaaannnnt a 2 cheeseburgers as well and a Mac Attack, do you understand whats coming out of my mouth?
Me: Sorry maam, he's a bit drunk, Mac Attack combo please
Drunk Gui: Excuse me Ronald Donald, Just because i'm French doesn't mean you don't serve me Macattack!!!!!
I quickly wind up the window to avoid being arrested for having a hubby that can't handle his booze
This afternoon, we went to watch Lytoria and Cassandrae (Victoria-my cousin and Lyell's 2 daughters) play netball in Cambridge. They played awesome, both their teams made it to the finals and won their divisions, thrashing the oppositions. Very promising futures for these two!! I'm hoping some of that talent rubs off on Maeva, hehe.
Lytoria, loves looking after Maeva and we've been calling her Maeva's second mom because she fusses over her constantly and makes sure M's nappies are changed hourly...wish i could call on her at 3am!!!!
Lastly, while we were in Cambridge, we stopped by at Sheree's place and introduced Jackie to the Revells, here's a gorgeous photo i took of Maeva smiling and cooing at Sheree's granma, it was so beautiful seeing 2 people, 3 generations apart hit it off on a good note...priceless moment!! Lynne also baked some yummy cakes and biscuits for us, plus marlin pate, ummmmmmm....i've think i've put on 2 kgs today and i don't even give a damn!!!!

Jacqui is here!!!
It's very rare for the three of us to be in the same picture, so thanks to Jacqui, we're getting the occational snap...
Speaking of whom, Jacqui arrived last Friday from Marseille to spend time with her new grandchild and first grand-daughter. It's so good having her here, especially because I can get some time to myself while she looks after baby. PLus, it can get quite dull talking to Maeva all day,...heheh.
Whenever the weather is good (and it's hardly been good), Jacqui and I would pack the stroller and head out for a walk with Maeva. This photo is at the Lake in Hamilton.
The four of us are gonna be in Samoa for 2 weeks, looking forward to some REAL sunshine!!!
Allez L'OM
