Recent photos of mainly Maeva, ive finally put up the pics on this location...enjoy
Maeva Moelagi's getting a fish.
Today, while I was comatose from last nights party, Gui and Maeva went to the pet shop to have a wee nosy and when they returned, Maeva hopped in bed with me and whispered
"Mum, I'm getting a fish".
And then again "Mum, Daddy said I'm getting a fish"
So, we went down to the pet shop again so she could show me 'her' fish.
This little passion of hers is not straight forward though, we have to register, then we buy the fish tank ($79.00) being the cheapest, run it for minimum three days (sycle) and then we wait several more days for the fish to sign the agreement that they want to be owned by us.
Oka, what happened to just buying the bloody fish there and then.
Eh.
Anyhow, while we were there we decided to buy some plants next door.
Oh my gawd, $59 for a bloody plumeria and a whoooping $105 for a sickly palm.
These two episodes make me miss my home island so much. We never 'owned' a goldfish but we freely caught fish down the village pool...well, we caught and faakiau the fish but thats another matter.
As for plants - In Savaii, you stick the plant to the ground and voila! overgrowth. but getting a plant here is like adopting a second child, you have to constantly care for the bloody thing, water it, Feed it with plant food, repot it if its looking depressed, cover it during frostly nights, shade it in the heat of summer,,,,what an investment!
anyhow, we (mainly Gui now) do it also for MM, she loves being outside and we love keeping her outside. She loves watering the plants. We love seeing her excitement at picking the feijoas, oranges and tomatos off the tree and eating it on the spot.
Okay, theyre back now......pics to follow this century!!
