Im in the library working on my thesis draft, and I can't sit properly because my baby in my tummy is doing Major turns and kicks. It's cute at first but at this point, I want to do work, not just sit here watching my stomach develop a personality of its own.
I have another 5 days before the hospital appointment where the specialist will try massage bebe into position.
For some reason, all baby's head does is move from ribcage to my left side and then up again...but NEVER turn downwards completely. This makes for real discomfort because the head is pushing into my ribcage and I need to gasp every now and them to breath.
I can already see that this baby has the father's personality: being a pain in the neck.
Yep - fun times ahead indeed.
Will keep u posted.

Maeva Update
BACK TO REALITY
Maeva is now 3 years and 8 months old.
She is itchting to turn 4.
On several mornings, she comes to my bed and lies down next to me and says
"Mom, look how tall I am, (pointing from head to toe)...I must be 4!"
She just can't wait!
Her Nani Jacqui and Eric left 2 days ago, and she misses them.
She said to Gui in the car on the way home "I miss my Nani so so much, I want to go on an aeroplane to see her".
So we remind her that we will meet again...so get a JOB to pay for your own fare! haha.
Anyhows - we will be seeing Aunty Cherelle soon, she lights up at that thought.
"And Paul?"
ADVENTURE MAN
She loves Cherelle's kama. He's an adventurous guy who loves the outdoors and loves playing with kids.
In Maeva's eyes, that makes him the coolest dude during the holidays...or any other time.
Paul makes her walk endlessly and climbs trees and crawl under stuff and pick fruit and roll down the hills.
Ya know, all that stuff you picture yourself doing for your children Before you actually have them?
And then when they nag you 10 times to climb a tree you yell at them to leave you alone and go watch some tv or something? yep, that stuff.
Every child needs someone like Paul in their lives.
Even if my heart skips 3 beats every time he dangles her with her legs or stands her on a high brick wall alone or runs down a steep treacherous valley with her on his shoulders. or luggs her up a rocky waterfall.
Even if my heart skips 10 beats, she is a happier kid at the end of the risky adventure.
NEED A FRIEND
This week, she starts back at kindy, she is elated. Ecstatic even.
Well, what did you expect?
She spent the whole of last week with her fat momma lying on the couch!
She needed a friend or entertainment. But my batteries lasted 40 minutes before I was horizontal on the couch.
My poor girl.
This is how BADLY she needed friends.
She ended up with the swiss ball on the trampoline and she named him "Panateria".
She told me he was her cousin. She spent hours jumping with "Panateria" and having extended conversations with the swiss ball.
I tried recording these conversations but even time she saw me she would stop and beg me to jump with her.
In the end, I went to Teu's and kidnapped her friend Stella and brought them home to play.
I started to worry when Maeva started introducing her "imaginary" friends to Stella.
"We have to jump with Panateria and make sure we give some space for Snow White and Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella and Can (Ken)".
Hmmm......needless to say, we are thrilled to have her back at Kindy and playing with REAL HUMAN FRIENDS.
CHOOSING BOX
Oh, almost forgot, we have started a reward programme for Maeva.
She gets a sticker every time she brushes her teeth, ate all her breaky, tidied shoes, tidied clothes, studied her Kindy scholar book, ate dinner, brushed teeth and did something wonderful/ kind/ helpful (bonus sticker).
At the end of the day, if she received a sticker for ALL tasks, she gets to pick something from the choosing box. (containing goodies that Gui bought from the $2.00 shop)
This is SUCH a success.
Her room is now orderly. Her shoes are in the shoe box and she is pedantic about getting all her stickers.
She is doing so well that Gui and I sat down yesterday and wondered if we should add columns for:
"Vacuum the house, Do the washing, Prepare Dinner" lol.....nah, maybe give her a year or two..haha...child labour much???
k, baby update:
I'm now 36 weeks and baby is growing and Moving A LOT!
Its lying in breech position and today (in 30 minutes) I have a scan to determine whether we need to go to hospital to move the baby in the correct position. 2 senior doctors at Waikato are qualified to do this.
They use a scan and then massage the tummy and nudge the bebe towards the right way...they monitor to see that baby is not distressed at any time.
IF baby moves, then Yay....normal birth.
IF baby doesn't move, then we will have to consider a EC.
Either way, I am just OVER IT. Bring on Feb already. I am sick of lugging my belly around.
k, better go to my appointment.
cheers
