Maeva is now 8 months and has learnt to crawl and hold her own bottle (less work for me, yay!!!). She continues to be a pleasant-natured little baby with much enthusiasm and contentment. Over the last few weeks, we have been driving a lot and seeing many people, sleeping in a tent, in friends and family's houses and living rroms and she's taken it all in her stride. As long as she is well rested and well-fed, she's all go.
I have moved shop from hamilton east to Chartwell, which is closer to home (5 minutes drive) but longer hours (its in a Mall). I'm enjoying the challenge but also anxious to give it my all,...I need to prove myself. For my own sake. And it also makes better financial sense to do so.
I don't believe in New Year Resolutions, but I have set some personal goals to aim for this year.
Health/Wellbeing
The health and wellbeing of my family is most pivotal. Eating well is a good step, which we are generally doing, but we will continue to do this.
I also need to do sport again now that I am more settled with work and baby. I will start up the netball team again and get back to tennis as we used to do.
I need to work on losing the baby tummy for good. I have been complacent in recent weeks due to the holidays but I seriously need to get my act together.
Education and Upskilling
-Do more training
-Learn to speak/write French fluently by the end of the year...2009.(not just my 3 year old french lessons)-:
Finances
Be more accountable with finances and be aware of how we're tracking financially. Not to leave it to Gui to some this out but take a more active role in our accounts.
p.s. spend less money on coffee....(shet, thats gonna be a damn tough one to change)
Career
Go for GOLD.
Be more efficient at work. Use time wisely. Diarise. Be assertive. Be frank. Follow up. Be accountable and take responsibility. It's the only way to move forward and UP!
Travel
I guess this is already set to happen (En shala!)
We plan to travel to Marseille in July-August for no less than 4 weeks to see Gui's family. But I will take more advantage of my work perks and do a small trip to Fiji before then or to Brisbane. And and, go to Oman to see Omega, and Austria to see Fleur and and...okay, i better stop here.....because i'm now talking about visions and not realistic goals!!!
Last but not leastBe there for loved ones
All in all, I aspire to make this year count. Make my mark. Be an inspiration. Be inspired.
...Oh yeah, World Peace and Harsher corporal punishment for parole violators.
