Happy White Sunday...

Today is White Sunday in Samoa.
It is a special day for all the children.
On White Sunday, all the children get brand new clothes and the get to sing songs for their parents and eat lots of food.
I didn't get to take Maeva to church but I did get her to wear her white dress and eat lots of food!! Happy White Sunday Maeva.

This is my pretty dress from Nani!!

Merci Clara pour les chaussure!!

My photographic story about the last 3 weeks

My name is Maeva Moelagi Becerra.
I am now 18 months older.
I can run fast and climb up the slide at the playground.
When my mommy puts me in baby chair for my meal, I can say "amene!!".
My favourite foods at the moment are cheesy ravioli, chicken, fries, kiwifruit and tomato.
My parents only give me 2 bottles of milk a day now, and thats fine with me because i'm a big girl now. I think.
I like singing "head, shoulders knees and toes" but I can't pronounce the words properly so I just like doing the actions while someone else sings for me.
Last week, I had a runny nose and a bad cough but I am much better now because I have been taking my medicine, Pamol everyday. I like the strawberry taste!
Enjoy my photos of the last 3 weeks of my life
I'm a star!!!!

Dance, Run, Kiss, Laugh like MM

Maeva is now 16 months old and has light blondish hair that gets into her eyes while she's running. She is a joy, this child of mine. Here I go again, raving about my child like she is the first baby to be born into this world. I'm suffering from OPD. Overexcited Parent Disorder. "This is the act of being acutely excited about a child's action despite how easy the action and despite having other parents around who think youre a complete nutter" For example, I took Maeva Moelagi to the Base playground yesterday and she happily runs up the steps to the slide, as she slid down, i ran to the bottom and jumped all over excitedly at her accomplishment. She did look at e strangely, wondering with this woman is making such a big fuss about her sliding???
Anyhow, aside from that, I'm grateful to announce that with all the toys she has at home, this week, she actually took an interest in stacking the colored blocks into rows and reading the "Freddie the Frog" books. Gui has even been able to put her to sleep by "reading" her a book...wow!!!!(okay, there's my OPD syndrome again). On the down side, she is developing an "attitude". When I tell her "AUA" "NON", she will pretend to be distracted and then return to what she's NOT meant to be doing. This will continue until I remove her forcefully. In which case she turns angrily and throws something, anything at me, or "force" herself to cry in a very dramatic fashion. Ia, sosoo loa ma le po i le goo o baby girl!! She is however very cheerful at most times, she now gives kisses and can wave(well for the last few months) and she's very cheeky when she laughs, she covers her mouth and bends her knees as she giggles...oka, where does she get that from???
