Cook Islands 2013

once again, back in the Cooks for work, but these three tagged along part of the time.

This year, I did twice the hours compared to last year but feel that it was well worth it. I am seeing the same contacts again and we have managed to build that rapport in the 12 months., 

While I was at work...these 3 were living it up, but I managed to tag along at the end - one of these days, I will go to the islands and it won't be for work! (...one day!!!)

Do your children get along?

A few weeks ago, the two were playing, falling on the rug, giggling - both actually having fun (for a change).
I said to MM, "Wow, you are doing very well playing together, I like it"
To which she responded "I know Mom, we are finally getting along!"

Becerra Update

April 2013.

All is well in the JacksonBecerra household. 

This week, we are getting a shock to the system with the sudden chill, particularly after several months of glorious sunshine, drought, beach trips and ice blocks. 

After Samoa over Christmas New Years, we came back are totally took advantage of living 10 minutes from the beach and the numerous swimming spots along with Waitakere Range or Point Chev.

We are loving the fact that it takes 15 minutes to chuck stuff in the car and off for a swim.

MM is loving being in Year 2 and counting down the days to her 6th Birthday.

She continues to do very well in school, loves reading and drawing and very detailed drawings too.

But her biggest stregth according to her teacher is Mathematics. She does Mathletics every night with her dad so its definitely working.

Tui on the other hand, is a cheeful, ulavale happy boy. He's a bit hooked on the ipad at the moment, so we are constantly trying to hide it. He adores Poppa Jeff and is glued to him when we go for a visit. 

He is beginning to talk more now, mainly gibberish but also broken English and lots of Samoan words.

We had Aunty Relle and baby Aolagi for 2 weeks and had fun getting to know the lil' princessa. Very chilled laid back baby, and adored byt the two kids....adored a bit too much i think

otherwise, all is well.
