Its been one week already since our lil man arrived, and what a full on week its been! I'll try recall some key moments - if only to maintain my sanity! heh.
Day 1: 10th Feb, 01:19am, Baby was born at Waikato Hosp.
When all the excitement was had, Gui Relle and I realised how hungry we were at 2am, we had missed dinner. Gui got some chicken and chips and we dug in at the ward. it was a hilarious sight. I handed baby to relle and stuffed my face. In the midst of the excitement, we left home without the baby capsule, so Gui had to drive to Riveridge to get one for Sebastien. 4 hourly sleeps.
Sheree, STeve and Olivia were our first visitors.
Maeva, who slept over at Lucia's house came to meet her baby brother for the first time. She made a card for him. She loved giving him cuddles. Very priceless moment.
Day 2: Friday, 11th Feb: Still at Riveridge.
Still 4 hourly feeds. Latching on well.
Got a GHD for my hair, yay! it makes such a difference!
Day 3: Saturday: Midwife visit.
Check out and go home sweet home.
First night at home, still 4 hourly sleeps and my breast are painfully engorged to the days.
I have milk supply for Africa.
Booked Korean Air flights to France in July. 7 weeks. yay.
Day 4: Sunday
My back, shoulders are numb from pain and Relle saved me by massaging my back. I almost cried from the pain. Baby doing 3-4 hour sleeps.
Skyped with my sister in Oman and they see baby for the first time. exciting to see Tau responding to the new addition,...and a boy at that! yay!
Day 5: Monday:
My sister left today for Auckland ): and Gui went to work. Maeva to kindy.
Our first day at home by ourselves. We ventured out for the first time today.
Maeva had ballet class and she was loving it. She was doing her stretches before the actual class. SHe learnt a lot from Aunty Relle and Youtube. We took pics.
It was a really hot day and I was feeling a bit faint, Gui was totally oblivious to my discomfort. oh joy.
Baby is doing well, lots of sleeps, poos and pees - hes growing and changed since birth already!
Day 6: Tuesday: Midwife visit
Relle leaves for Samoa this morning ):
We MISS HER): She has been such a huge help for me and i am grateful to have her around. She made time and effort for Maeva and she is a brighter and more intelligent child as a result.
Day 7 Wednesday
Thank you Mega for the BF gift!!.
Speaking of gifts, we are blessed with such loving and caring families and friends.
We have bought hardly anything for Baby becuase we have had bags of clothes dropped off by our friends who have had baby boys before. we've had cakes, muffins, cookies baked for us. Yummy!
Its wonderful having such blessings in our lives.
Day 8 Thursday: Gui went to Auckland for work all day and I had to get Maeva to kindy and pick her up again. My stomach is still sore and the task of getting both kids ready is killing me. Just putting Sebastien in his car seat (capsule) and carrying it is a burden but it had to do it. I drove in to Maevas kindy and all the teachers and kids wanted to have a look at baby. Maeva was very proud!
At home, baby has decided to do only 2 hour sleeps. This is NOT good. I'm taking panadols to keep up. Extremely tired. Gosh, I forgot how tiring this is, damn it.
I wish i was back home where I would be spoiled silly and there would be people helping me. I miss that and i'm getting totally agro because i feel like im just feeding, feeding feeding and then still have to get up myself and do things. I'll get better im sure. Please! haha
Friday: well, its 2 minutes before Friday and it better be good coz i am knackered.
Good Night.
